ECHOES, ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE SYDNEY

ECHOES, ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE SYDNEY

Echoes marks an important milestone in my artistic journey as my first solo exhibition in Sydney. Originally launched at the Lycée Condorcet de Sydney as part of the school's 60th anniversary celebrations, the exhibition has since found its permanent home at the Alliance Française de Sydney.

The exhibition presents a series of 14 photographic pairings that create a visual dialogue between France and Australia. Through carefully composed duos, I explore the unexpected correspondences between two countries that have profoundly shaped both my life and my artistic practice.

Rather than documenting places, Echoes seeks to reveal the subtle connections that transcend geography. Similar lines, colours, textures, architecture and light emerge across distant landscapes, inviting viewers to look beyond borders and discover a shared visual language. Each pairing becomes both a visual and emotional bridge, celebrating the richness of cultural exchange and the way memories of different places can resonate with one another.

As a French photographer who has lived in Australia, this series reflects my ongoing fascination with the relationships between places, identities and perceptions. It is an invitation to slow down, observe closely and recognise that, despite the distance between them, France and Australia often echo each other in the most unexpected ways.

Now permanently exhibited at the Alliance Française de Sydney, Echoes continues to foster cultural dialogue through the universal language of photography, creating lasting connections between France and Australia.
